You’ve booked your ideal glamping site. You’ve devoured the local guidebook. Now you’ve just one thing left to do: pack. But just what do you take glamping?
Here’s our list for what to take glamping if you’ve booked a caravan glamping experience.
Footwear
All of these are ideal for what to take glamping: wellies for squelching in the mud, waterproof boots for hiking, trainers for hot days, flip flops for going in the shower and to the beach. Slippers to keep your feet warm inside the caravan and the mud outside the caravan.
Loungewear
Fleece loungewear, fleecy pyjamas or, yes, a onesie, will be your cuddle buddy and perfect for what to take glamping. Pack loungewear to keep you warm, it’s still camping at the end of the day, no matter how glamorous.
Clothes
Don’t take a wagon of clothes each – remember space is more compact in a caravan than a hotel room. In answer to what to take glamping, pack hiking trousers, jeans, a long-sleeved top (or two), a couple of T-shirts, shorts/skirt, a sweater/fleece, bed socks and a warm coat. And importantly – a waterproof jacket! If there’s a hot tub on site, like at Silver Airstream Rental, [link to Home Page] take swimming gear. Plus your loungewear.
Equipment
The top piece of equipment for what to take glamping is a bright head torch. You’ll need one for any night-time forages (to and from the pub for example). Forget handheld torches, they’re more hassle than they’re worth and restrict your hands.
A penknife. All your cutlery will be provided when caravan glamping, but sometimes you just need those little extras that might not be in the drawers, like a corkscrew, bottle opener and scissors.
Don’t forget a lighter or matches for the gas cooker and outdoor fire pit.
Sleeping Kit
Most caravans should supply linen and sleeping gear. But if you’re a cold camper, there’s absolutely no harm in taking an extra duvet (if you’re travelling by car) or a pack-up-small sleeping bag if you’re arriving by train.
Bits ‘n’ Bobs
What to take glamping that isn’t already in the list: • Cards and/or board games (we can’t guarantee the weather!)
• A frisbee
• Battery pack and USB leads for when you’re not sitting near a power point but are too comfy to get up!
• A reusable water bottle for your day trips
• Foldable chairs for sitting outside your caravan
• Toilet roll (this should be supplied but in case you run out)
• Washing up liquid and scourer (check with your site if these are already provided. At Silver Airstream Rental, they are)
